Places to See

There are so many, and new ones are opening all the time.

This list is just of those we know well, and recommend, but there are many we haven't visited yet, and many inland in towns like Alhama de Murcia, Totana, and Lorca have good places to eat – To name just three of the alternatives.

Amaro’s at El Pareton.

Go past Camposol and take the road for Totana.

Pass through Cantereros until you reach the sign that says Cantereros is ending and El Pareton is starting (The two villages merge together).

Not far now and after the traffic lights you will see Amaro’s sign on the right.

You can park next to the sign, or go up the road beside the restaurant across the road, and park there or in the square behind.

Enter the restaurant through the bar which is on the main road.

Around 20 euros a head for a really good meal.

Recommend Vino Tinto de Casa, which comes by the jug full at just 3 euros a jug.

In my experience, Menu del Dia at lunchtime is not nearly as good.

Mariana’s on Camposol.

Look out for Menu del Dia at just 10 euros per head. (Changes daily and good variety to choose from).

Go A La Carte if you want to spend more.

Don’t be tempted anywhere if they offer you Mazarron prawns. Although they are very nice they don't publish a price for them. So if you can't resist, ask how much first.

Now opened on Camposol, there is another Chinese, Pekin 6, and an Indian, about which I have had good reports.

Chinese.

Well, there are so many ……..

All good, and I guess we all have favourites.

Our current favourites are Pekin 5, and Pekin 2. But a new one has just opened in the Port, and another new one in Bolnuevo. The new one in the Port, Da Fu Hau, is particularly good.

Menu for 4 people, between 40 euros and 80 euros depending on your favourite selection.

Indian.

There are two Indian restaurants in the port, but we think they are over-priced at about twice the cost of a Chinese.

There is now a very good Indian Restaurant on Camposol sector A. The food is good, very well presented and it is worth a visit. Very popular at the present time.

The Market Tavern.

English run and English menu.

Giant breakfasts, Cod and chips (Huge), Steak pies, Treacle puds. That sort of thing.

Best to book if you want the cod, and say you want the cod at the time you make the booking.

Great Sunday Lunches too.

Casa del Mar.

Very Spanish fish restaurant.

If you like fish – go here, and the Turbot is excellent.

Find it on the end of the Harbour car park.

But there are so many more. Exploring them all is great fun even if you make the occasional mistake.
